In this video you’ll hear the Edutige EIM-003 omnidirectional external microphone with an ESL-006 lavalier adapter cable connected to an iPhone 6 using the Apple Lightning to headphone adapter cable that comes with the iPhone 7. This is a great solution for anyone that needs a high quality lapel microphone that is compatible with the iPhone 7 and that is a simple plug-and-play.
In last week’s video, I tested the EIM-008 unidirectional microphone and as you may notice, I filmed both videos on the same day, back-to-back. The thing I want to point out is how in this video, the EIM-003 picks up a bit of the rain hitting the windows. But when you listen to the EIM-008 video, you don’t notice the rain. That’s the difference between the omnidirectional microphones we have and the unidirectional ones.
Anyway, if you have any questions about which microphone to choose, let me know. At least if you’re an iPhone 7 owner, you now know you can easily connect an external microphone for making videos, such as vlogs, or recording audio using the Apple Lightning to headphone adapter cable and an Edutige EIM series microphone.

For purpose of interview with iPhone 7, what do you use to plug the 2 mics into ?
Hi Tony,
Thanks for your question!
The ESL-004 : 4-Pole Splitter Cable for EIM Series Microphones is what you need to plug the 2 Edutige EIM series microphones into the iPhone 7. Yes, you still need the Apple lightning to headphone adapter with the ESL-004.
