The Action Bundle 3 is for you if you need a dedicated lavalier microphone for the GoPro Hero3, Hero3+ or Hero4 action cameras. Instead of the ETM-001 microphone found in the Action Bundle 1, with the Action Bundle 3 you get the ETM-006 lavalier microphone. You still get the amazingly effective EWS-003 furry windscreen (you know it’s handmade, right?).
Performance-wise, the ETM-001 and ETM-006 are the same. The primary difference is that the ETM-006 comes with a 1.3m long cable (4.3ft) and the microphone cannot be detached but that makes it a nice, simple lavalier microphone for the GoPro. It also makes the overall microphone smaller than the ETM-001 going into a cable.
And speaking of cable, the Action Bundle 3 also comes with the EGL-001 mini USB microphone adapter cable to connect an external microphone to a GoPro Hero3, Hero3+ or Hero4. The EGL-001 mini USB cable is also 1.3m long (4.3ft), which means you now have over 8ft of cable so you can freely move around while filming with your GoPro. You’ll also get two lapel clips so you can use the ETM-006 as a lavalier microphone for the GoPro and also clip the cable to an object to keep the cable secure.
Who the Action Bundle 3 is for
The Action Bundle 3 is perfect for those times when you want to put your GoPro on a tripod or mounted somewhere and you can’t be up close to the camera. A lavalier microphone for the GoPro is great when you want to demonstrate something, like say if you were a baseball coach and wanted to teach batting tips. You could put the GoPro a safe distance away, connect the ETM-006 to your person and not worry about hitting the cable when you show off your sweet swing and send your GoPro flying.
The Action Bundle 3 is also perfect for vlogging with a GoPro because it’s a lavalier microphone, but again, you get the extra flexibility of the longer cable. And you can connect the ETM-006 to a DSLR, mirrorless camera, digital audio recorder or into an iOS device with the ETG-003 adapter. This makes the Action Bundle 3 a very versatile kit you can use with other devices as you build out your audio kit.
